Conservation of the environment is very important to the people of Abaco. With so much of Abacoís industry focused around itís natural beauty, thereís no surprise that we focus so much on keeping our surroundings pristine.

This weekend the Bahamas National Trust is hosting itís annual fundraiser ďArt for the ParksĒ at Abaco Beach Resort & Boat Harbour in Marsh Harbour. Local artists from all over Abaco will be showcasing their talents, along with a fresh market, live music, delicious foods and games for the kids. If youíre interested in learning more about the history of the Bahamas and the progress of the BNTís efforts, there will be a series of educational programs throughout the day for you to enjoy. All proceeds from the event go towards supporting the six national parks on Abaco. These parks cover both land and sea in an effort to protect not only our coral reefs, but our native forests and wildlife as well.

Located not far from the Abaco Beach Resort are the Regattas of Abaco condominiums. Set back away from the hustle and bustle of town, but still just minutes away from shopping and restaurants, these condoís come with some great amenities that keep you close to nature. The beach is always open, but if salt water is not your thing, the pool is cool and inviting. The tennis court is nestled into the local tropical plant life and right next to it is one of our newest Regattas listings.

Regattas #202 is a cozy 2 bed/2 bath unit with ceramic tiled floors and pickled tongue-in-groove ceilings. My favourite room in 202 is the kitchen. With wood cabinets, granite countertops and modern appliances, itís a kitchen I can truly see myself cooking in.

Why not visit Art for the Parks this weekend and pick up a few pieces of locally made art and make Regattas 202 your new Abaco home?
