I'll Be Home For Christmas

Abaco homes are special. They’re built in communities where everyone is like family. Whether you are from down the road or halfway around the world, there is always a place for you here.

At Christmastime communities come together even more, with gatherings and events to celebrate the season. This Sunday, for example, in Cherokee Sound, there is a candlelight service at Epworth Methodist Church. Folks from all over Abaco come and join in an evening of carols and hear the Christmas Story. The evening is rounded out by singing the last few carols by candlelight. Many stick around after the service to catch up with friends they haven’t seen for a while as refreshments are served at the community center. There’s a great time to be had by all.

Cherokee Sound, Abaco is my home town. It is a quiet little settlement about a half an hour drive south of Marsh Harbour. Everyone is so warm and friendly. I can’t imagine living anywhere else. With a small grocery store, gas station, and primary school, it’s the perfect place to retire or start a family.

Located near the community boat ramp is a recently built home called Sawyer Cottage. This 2 bed/1 bath home is a great place to settle down. With v-joint walls, ceramic tiled floors and a beautiful bay window, you are just a moments walk from everything, including the famous Long Dock, where many gather year-round for picnics and swimming.

So, make your home an Abaco home. I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.
